The Golden Gate Gene Club- A Fashion Doll Club
Fabrics and Trims Swap
June 21, 2002

Karen Morton, our attractive and gracious hostess with the mostess greeted doll pals sunday afternoon. Members spent the first hour of the meeting visiting and setting up goodies. We all enjoyed looking at Karen's beautifully displayed doll collection, and gorgeous home in scenic Scotts Valley. This was worth the trip in itself!

The meeting was a casual affair with 17 doll fans in attendance. We started out with a few announcements, talked about upcoming conventions, and doll signings. Kristan Molchin gave us the scoop on her e-bay critiquing experience. Larry Pemble and Roberta Carter told us about the recent Paris Fashion Doll Festival which they attended.

We knew were at the right house when we saw a car with REDVENS liscense plates parked in the driveway. Vicky Walker was one of the first guest to arrive.

Setting up for the swap.
Members set up various trims, fabrics, hats, buttons, laces, patterns, and vintage books. We then spent an hour going through and trading fabrics and trims. We also exchanged ideas about where to buy doll scaled fabrics and accesories.
We had a great time going through each others treasures, trading, and even trying some of it on.
