Gene is going to the 1953 Academy
Awards to support her idol Grace Kelly in her bid for
best supporting actress in Mogambo.Although Gene is
not one of the nominees this year, she draws rave reviews
for her red carpet gown. Gene's regal belle-shaped gown,
which she designed is like a multi-faceted jewel. Gene
was inspired by Dior's evening fashions and her love
for vintage fashion. The front ofthe gown is embellished
with beads that glisten as they cascade down the bodice.
The back of the gown features a sumptuous multi-tiered
train which adds drama and elegance. The luxurious mink
shrug jacket is the perfect compliment to the pearl
color of the gown. Gene's jewelry was handcrafted specifically
for this event and truly does add that crowning touch.
