Linda
Smith presented a very basic slide show of 2002 dolls and a few
misc vintage ones. She promised a peak of the 2003 line at the "Manufacturers
Show Case". The ones that I can remember are; Policeman, fireman,
nurse, oriental doll with straight hair, Ginny with a string of
paper doll Ginnys and a Breast Cancer Awareness Doll. Photos were
not allowed of the 2003 dolls. Ginny very much into the Mod theme,
wearing a Go Go style dress in black/white blocks. Adorned with
polka dots. She had matching leotards (one black leg, one white),
shoes (one black, one white), hair ribbons on her braids (one black,
one white), very clever. Comes with mauve hula hoop and a Hot Pink
Sparky. Sparky wears a matching jacket with reverse polka dots from
Ginny dress. He was a BIG favorite. Linda Smith said that there
will not be any more pink Sparky in the future. COA could be signed
by Linda. We also received an assortment of Ginny outfits in our
registration bag from Vogue.

Mel
Odom presented a story about a young wife he had met at Doll Market
who's husband had been in Afghanistan for 8 months. In his absence
she had occupied herself with her dolls to fill the empty time. Her
husband presented Mel with two momentos from his Afghanistan service
in gratitude. Mel was very moved by this. The souvenir doll costume
was designed by George Sarofeen. Gene has platinum wringlets hair,
wears a pastel blue classic flight attendant uniform, gold embroidered
flight 'pin', black handbag, black pumps, gold post earrings. COA's
could be signed by Mel and George. The centerpiece was same outfit
in mint green. FAO Schwarz also had the outfit in beige for sale at
their store, LE 200? Table favours were an assortment of boxed Gene
outfits. We received St. Moritz and Kiss Me, Gene.
