The Convention
started Wednesday with a special City Tour and ended Saturday
night with the Robert Tonner Banquet. In between, the days and
evenings were loaded with a doll competition, workshops, programs,
3 doll luncheons, 3 doll dinner banquets, a spectacular raffle,
and a sales room.
If that wasn't enough the Big Easy was just a cab ride away where
the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, Cajun cooking, and more Louisiana
adventures awaited.
This roving reporter came in a few days later than expected so
crammed it all into 3 memorable days. As always visiting with
doll friends and meeting new ones was a big part of the convention
for me. That combined with the hospitality of the Modern Doll
Collectors people and the sights of New Orleans made the trip
more than worth the efforts in getting there.
Kudos to Earl Meisinger, Ruth Leif, Mary Voight, Judith Whorton,
Patsy Moyer, Jeanne Niswonger, Robert Toner, Virginia Ann Heyerdahl,
Lee Ann Beaumont, Margaret Stewart, Bev Michell, Virginia Meisinger,
Eileen Hobbs, and Angie Gonzales for bringing us a wonderful Convention.
