The
Saturday luncheon was a vast improvement over last years event.
There were no long speeches and over all everything ran smoothly.
Kathy Moreau welcomed everyone and said her partner was locked
up in a box. A guy walks in, in a large Barbie box. This was
to commemorate Kens 40th Anniversary. He looked cute wearing
a bathing suit and large wrist tag. Lunch was a special cut
of duck, veggies and potatoes.The BMAA Int.award winners were
announced and new friend Katsuko from Japan won 1st place in
the international division for a Barbie she did. It was thrilling!
Next Kathy Moreau announced Ashton Drake was giving all attendees
free "Gold Sensation" outfits. The 1st doll we received
was the brown haired version"Day
in the Sun Barbie". 1100 were made with this hair color
(550 for Paris and 550 for the US). The regular line dolls are
a frosty blonde. Robert Tonner spoke briefly and introduced
Tyler “La Femme Chic”. A 300
limited edition with special hair color and outfit just for
Paris. Next “City Lights Alex”. was
introduced and distributed. Next Mel spoke briefly before unveiling
the Madra -"Les Etoiles"
During the luncheon there was a Fashion
Show with people modeling their favorite Doll Clothes. Towards
the end of the luncheon there was a drawing for some of the
limited editions of 20 dolls.
