Versailles

Sight seeing at Versailles was a highlight of the trip. We loved the Hall of Mirrors!

Starting in 1668 with his father's modest modest hunting lodge,
Louis XIV built the largest palace in Europe, housing 20,000 people at a time.

Hall of Mirrors

Great State Occasions were held in the multimirrored room stretching 233 ft. along the west facade.
Here in1919 the Treaty of Versailles was ratified, ending World War I.
