The Tyler Wentworth High Tea

There were 29 tables of 6 guest each. A models runway ran down the middle of the room and ensured a good view for all attending. I (Reba from CA) had the priveledge of hostessing a wonderful group of doll lovers. Debbie Silva, Darwin & Fred from Texas, and a mother and daughter from the Albuquerque Gene Club agreed that everything was done tastefully with attention to detail.

The tables were beautifully decorated. 2 foot tall vases with orchids, ivy, lilys and dried leaves graced the center of the each table. The height of them allowed an unobstructive view to the runway and table mates. Imagine a room full of tables topped with these center pieces. It was quite elegant. There wasn't a ton of loot, but what we recieved was high quality. A Tyler pin, paper dolls and a people sized Tyler portfolio. The table hostess got the paper doll of Tyler in White House Dinner. Of course my redhead and blond Tylers also joined us at the table.

Here is a summary of the event. There was a quick welcome from Peachie Brown.and were invited to enjoy our tea and have a lookat the 8 beautiful auction dolls.

We had a meal which consisted of Tea and coffee, Crab and Zuchinni bread sandwiches,
Cucumer and mint butter sandwiches, Orange currant scones (really biscuits that had been sweetened and frosted), Jams and Butter. Chocolate dipped strawberries, Mini eclairs and cream puffs. The food was fine, service great, surroundings wonderful, and the company fantastic.

After tea, Robert Tonner narrated the fashion show. A real class act.
They did a great job duplicating Tyler's outfits in human scale. Next came the Tyler Auction for Charity which was again well organized. Finally the table hostesses were instructed to hand out the Event Dolls which were under the tables. People quickly opened their boxes and there was alot of oohhs and ahhhs throughout the room. There was announcement made that if anyone was interested in purchasing another doll they could line up by one of the tables outside the room.

Robert Tonner graciously signed dolls.

Robert Tonner,
Peachie Brown, Rosalie & Don Purvis of the Land of Enchantment Doll Museum, Jo Ellen Brown Christy Stern and the Albuquerque Gene club did a wonderful job putting the event together.

The Tyler Event was part of the annual Santa Fe Doll Art symposium.
This was the first year it was held in Albuquerque and it was a success. Both were awesome!
A special thanks to Pilar from Santa Fe who was a gracious hostess during our visit.
